This Hybrid Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program is designed for motivated students seeking a flexible, high-quality pathway into EMS. The course combines asynchronous online learning with weekly in-person practical sessions, allowing students to complete didactic coursework on their own schedule while focusing in-person time on hands-on skills, patient assessment, simulations, and exam preparation.
All lectures, reading assignments, quizzes, and knowledge-based learning are completed online using nationally recognized EMS education platforms. Students attend one in-person class per week (5 hours) dedicated to psychomotor skills, scenario-based training, team-based simulations, and preparation for the Massachusetts EMT psychomotor and cognitive exams. In-person sessions emphasize real-world application, clinical reasoning, and exam readiness.
This course follows a structured, progressive format aligned with Massachusetts OEMS requirements, National EMS Education Standards, and current testing methodologies. Students will participate in regular skills evaluations, scenario simulations, in-person quizzes, pharmacology assessments, module exams, and a comprehensive final exam. The program also includes BLS HeartCode skills verification during the first in-person session.
Tuition Includes:
-
Limmer Ready (exam prep and adaptive testing platform)
-
Limmer EMT Class Advantage (recorded lectures and learning modules)
-
Limmer EMT Review Bundle
-
EMT Textbook (Emergency Care and Transportation of the Sick and Injured, 14th Edition – Brady/Pearson)
-
EMS Testing access (in-person EMS-style quizzes and assessments)
This course is ideal for students balancing work, school, or family commitments while still wanting a rigorous, instructor-supported EMT education experience. Successful completion prepares students for Massachusetts EMT certification and the NREMT cognitive and psychomotor examinations.
