This Accelerated Hybrid Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) course combines asynchronous online learning with an intensive end-of-course in-person skills boot camp, providing a flexible yet highly immersive pathway to EMT certification.
Program Highlights
-
Accelerated Hybrid + Boot Camp Format: This course combines asynchronous online learning with an intensive in-person skills boot camp during Week 10, consisting of six (5) mandatory 10-hour days. The boot camp focuses on all required EMT practical skills, scenario-based training, and full psychomotor exam preparation.
-
Student Readiness & Time Commitment: This is a fast-paced, accelerated program. Students should plan for approximately 10–15 hours per week of independent online study during the didactic phase, followed by full-day attendance during the in-person boot camp. Staying current with coursework and meeting all deadlines is critical for success.
-
Out-of-State Student Eligibility & Requirements: Out-of-state students are eligible to attend this program. All students, regardless of home state, must complete the Massachusetts EMT psychomotor examination as part of the course. Out-of-state students are responsible for arranging their own lodging and transportation for the in-person boot camp portion of the program and for verifying certification or reciprocity requirements in their home state.
Course Structure
-
Weeks 1–9: Fully asynchronous online learning, including recorded lectures, textbook reading, quizzes, pharmacology assessments, module exams, and exam preparation.
-
Week 10: In-person skills boot camp consisting of five (5) 10-hour days, dedicated to hands-on skills, simulations, remediation, and a full mock Massachusetts psychomotor exam.
This program meets Massachusetts Office of Emergency Medical Services (OEMS) requirements and prepares students for both the Massachusetts EMT psychomotor examination and the National Registry (NREMT) cognitive examination.
